This is a Computer Science book on a family of algorithms underlying the core methodology of current research and development in Bioinformatics. It provides detailed descriptions of the basic techniques of modern text-analysis research from the point of view of their application in Genomics and Phylogeny.
Since it is mainly devoted to algorithms derived from suffix trees and suffix arrays, it needs to be complemented with additional, application-specific readings in order to use the techniques described in novel applications.
The book has a strong orientation towards Computer Science, but should be easy to follow for any competent reader.
